Brotherhood and friendship with SAE will last a lifetime. Sigma Alpha Epsilon gives men the tools they need in order to make their lives successful and accomplished. SAE was the first fraternity to eliminate the need for pledging. No longer will people have to be hazed or discriminated against because everyone is considered a brother to us. We believe everyone is unique and has a talent which makes us stronger as brothers and as a fraternity. We strive to benefit you and help you earn your degree while in college. Expectations

Advance:
Be willing to advance and help the interests of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. You get no more out of life or any event unless you put the effort in. This is particularly true about the fraternity experience. Unless you expect to give some time and effort each week to your fraternity, you should not join.

Actively Recruit:
In order to have a future for the fraternity, we must actively recruit 24/7. It gives people the opportunity for a fraternity experience. You must make every effort to share that experience with potential new members so the fraternity can benefit for years to come.

Financially Stable:
You must meet Sigma Alpha Epsilon's obligations faithfully and swiftly. Like every other organization or business, the fraternity must have funds in order to operate. You should realize at the very beginning that all your financial obligations must be paid when due or asked.

Be True:
Conduct yourself by the meaning of a True Gentleman at all times. Sigma Alpha Epsilon expects its members to conduct themselves as gentlemen at all times.

Participate:
Participation in university and community activities or events. Participation in extracurricular activities, when practiced, can be extremely beneficial to both you and your Fraternity as a whole. Activities certainly have a rightful place on a university campus, and you are encouraged to participate in those activities in which you are interested.

Rules:
Follow all rules of the chapter. You are expected to obey all house rules, all chapter laws, along with all university policies. These regulations were adopted by majority vote of the active chapter and are the result of years of experience and knowledge.
What is the Process to Join?
Bid Acceptance
If the brothers of the chapter deem you of excellent character, they will offer you a bid to join Sigma Alpha Epsilon. From there, you will either accept or deny the bid.

Initiation
After you accept your bid, you will be required to be initiated within 96 hours. During initiation, you will learn the secrets of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and become a member of SAE, with all of the rights and privileges that come with membership and brotherhood.

Beyond Initiation
In SAE, learning has just begun. As an initiated member, you will be educated through the words of the True Gentlemen, and have the opportunity to serve the community or in a leadership role. You will receive your Badge after initiation. Your "Big" will then be revealed to you soon afterwards. Your personal development and character only just begins after initiation. You have now become part of a Brotherhood for Life.
